Indesign shows text that doesn't exist in imported Word document

      Hi,
      I have placed text from word in indesign cc2019 and in some places in the indesign document I found text that doesn’t exist in word.
      Does anybody know what is happening?
      I have been using indesign for more than 15 years and it never happened.

      Could it be text that you only see in Word with change tracking on?

      I chose show markups and some text shown is indesign can be seen in markups but the other can’t be seen
      there were literally thousands of changes
      how did it happen that deleted text from word appears in indesign?

      Is your Word doc multi-column? I had this problem, not with InDesign, but with Word. A client had started with a single column page on which he wrote some text. Then changed to 3 columns. The text did not become visible until I exported the doc to PDF. I fixed it changing the 3 columns to one, deleting the text on the single column, then turning 3 columns back on.
