Hi, i am a graphic designer, hwo has worked with – and teached in – InDesign since version 1.0.

Recently, i ran into a very strange problem. I exported en pdf for printing, and a collegue og mine did the same, but from a different PC. Our settings are the same (almost ..)

In print, there were a small different between the to jobs. In my collegues, the total ink is 2% higher. Content is the same.

We both Use Acrobat 5(PDF 1.4) in “Export Adobe PDF”, And in “Output” Color Conversion is set to the same profile “Coated FOGRA 39 (Preserve Numbers).
The only difference between us, is “Profile Inclusion Policy”. I use “Include Destination Profile”, and my collegue use “Don’t include profiles”.This diference causes the total ink to be higher in the pdf with the setting “Don’t incl….”

Why is there a difference? And which is the correct one???
