I'm posting this on the chance that someone has encountered this and maybe there is an answer. I've seen a post about the lack of facing pages button on the interactive pdf export dialog, but this is a little different… What I wanted to do was export a document with facing pages, but switch between single page view and 2 page spread within the pdf file. I discovered that changing the document to single pages and using actions in acrobat will do this with one caveat! The “show cover page in 2 page view” has to be selected in acrobat? So, if the user just happens to have that set, everything is great, but is there any way to make sure that is “set” when a viewer opens the document in reader or acrobat??? Hmmm… I've tried a number of settings, but nothing sems to affect that global “appolication” setting from the document. Maybe someone has tried this…

      Thanks.

have you tried the following yet?

in acrobat go to File > Properties, choose the tab Initial View and select at Page Layout the view you prefer from the drop down menu. Save your file and it should work fine.
