We are in the middle of an ebook conversion from a print layout (INDB and associated INDD and image files) to epub and mobi for a customer. We are in the part of our workflow where we export to ePub and then go back to InDesign to fix problems that remain. It has been exported to ePub dozens of times. Suddenly (about 5 days ago) InDesign started to crash every time we exported the file to ePub. Even if we go back and open an older version of the file. We repicated the problem on a PC also, so it happens on both Mac and PC (InDesign quits). We contacted Adobe and they got us to update to the latest version of cs6 but it hasn’t made any difference. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Just had this happen today….first time. Whenever I try to export this file to epub, InDesign crashes. Not sure what is happening. I checked the size of the images included in the file and lowered their size, but still happens. Clicked off the embed fonts, still happens. VERY frustrating!

        Hi,

I am from InDesign Quality Engineering team and look forward to help you.
Which version of InDesign are you using and are you exporting to EPUB from a book or a document? If possible, could you please share your packaged ID file (on dropbox may be?)if it is not confidential so that I can look into what is happening wrong during export.

        Regards,
        Pooja

Thank you so much for getting back with me. Upon further investigation into the file I was working on, I determined that it was a strange font that was crashing the file. When I replaced the font, it exported just fine.

I appreciate your willingness to help.
