Hi, thanks in advance for any help.

      InDesign CS4, G4/Tiger

Indy has developed an annoying habit of not allowing me to open a document either by clicking on the icon or the recently opened list without giving me the error that tells me it's in use or open on another computer. I then quit InDesign and when I restart it without logging out it starts and then shuts down due to a serious error. Should I just reinstall or will killing the prefs help? This happens maybe every 10th/12th doc and not on the same one twice.

If an OS restart doesn't fix, then deleting preferences would be the next step. Beyond that, resetting disk permissions and cleaning out the various font caches are the most common suggestions to clear the underbrush and get things back to a civilized state.
