InDesign CC2014 Packaging Book updates source links to packaged links

      InDesign CC2014 Packaging Book updates source links to packaged links when “Update links in package” is checked.

      Mac OSX 10.9.5 and 10.10.2 InDesign CC2014.1 with original InDesign files and linked graphics stored on Windows server.
      After packaging, original links in InDesign files on server all re-linked to the packaged links on my desktop and saved without warning. (ugh!)

      Doesn’t do that with source files on desktop and also OK on a Mac-formatted exteraanl drive.

      So I have to make a copy of my source files before packaging screws them up!

      I hear it affects Windows even more (in CS6 even):
      Adobes description of packaging and updating links in package is vague at best about which links it intends to update.
      But of course Mac CS6 didn’t behave that way and neither does CC2014 when using Mac drives – they leave source file links undisturbed,
