      Hello fellow InDesigners,

I created a table of contents which has 44 entries that is being used in a reflowable ePUB. I didn’t like the excessive vertical space this was taking up, so I thought I’d try putting the entries into a 4 column, 11 row table. This is working, but now I’d like to reflow the entries in a different order. Instead of the entries incrementing horizontally such as: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc., I’d like to stack them so they read:

      Chapter 1 Chapter 12
      Chapter 2 Chapter 13
      Chapter 3 Chapter 14
      etc. etc.

Is there a way to reflow the text inside a table?

      I’m using InDesign CC 2107 on a Windows 10 (64 bit) machine.

Make a one-row Table with all the columns you need, place in a text box with 2 or more Columns (Object->Text Frame Options).

Or create multiple Text Frames and link them.

You can adjust the height of the Text Frame to control flow, or manually by clicking Enter to do a Break into the Next Frame.
