    As you undoubtedly know, Bridge CS5 now can display previews of pages inside InDesign files, if you tell InDesign to save previews. I did that, changing the default 2 pages' preview to 5 and then got right back to work.

    Now I just exported pages 22 and 23 from InDesign as a PDF file. Looking at that PDF inside Bridge, Bridge seems to think there are 5 previews for those 2 pages (1st page 1 preview, 2nd page 4 previews).

    Changing the preferences to 10 page previews, re-saving the file (so the file itself has 10 page previews) and then re-exporting to PDF shows 10 page previews (1st page 1 preview, 2nd page 9 previews) inside Bridge for the PDF.

    Both times the PDF only contains two pages (as it should) so this is definitely some quirky behaviour inside Bridge CS5.
    Has anyone read anything about this and whether or not this is getting fixed?

    I'm bumping this to see if anyone has more info on this.

    Seeing how I did a complete re-install of my system after making the original post and it's still doing this, I can't believe I'm the only one who has noticed the number of preview pages a PDF has in Bridge is off if the PDF was exported from InDesign.
    My 208-page catalog's INDD file has a preview for each page (I set up InDesign to include a preview for all pages, rather only the first 10), exporting any number of pages from that file to a PDF results in a correctly working PDF that has 208 page previews when viewed from inside Bridge. Heck, even the PDF containing only the contents page has 208 previews!

    It does that with every PDF I export from InDesign and while it doesn't break anything, it's annoying as heck when Bridge says a PDF contains Y pages when in reality there are only X pages in there.

    Has nobody else found this problem?
    Oh, and yes, I did report this as a bug to Adobe, but naturally haven't heard anything.

    Definitely something weird going on there. I tried to export one page of a multipage document and the PDF preview is showing the entire document.

    Aren't the thumbnails in the preferences of InDesign solely for Bridge? I've noticed that the PDF size is smaller when you turn off this preference, even prior to CS5. I'm not sure how or why it affects pdfs, but it does and has for a while. As far as I know.

    I'm not going insane! Hooray! :)

    Now to get Adobe to find a fix.
