      Hello,

I am searching an information or some tips to work with InDesign within Sharepoint 2013.
Right now, I can upload a InDesign file in Sharepoint but I cannot open it.
It makes an error while trying to open (File is not accesible or has been deleted).
I searched on a lot of forum and it seems due to the .idlk file that is created while trying to save a .indd file.
Sharepoint saves before opening so when you try to open, it saves and try to create a ~.idlk file
~ is a forbidden charac in Sharepoint so creating this file is not possible, so opening .indd file from sharepoint is not possible.

I tried to from the explorer windows, but it is the same.
      I use sharepoint 2013, IE11, CS6.

Do you know people that found a way to work with InDesign within Sharepoint?

      Thanks

      Regards

As far as I know there is no way (still) to open an InDesign file in Sharepoint, as Microsoft would have to fix it. But I did find the following advice for a workaround:

      *****
Workaround: Copy the InDesign file to your desktop, open, edit and save it from there. Once any changes have been saved copy the file back to U:\ (SharePoint)
      *****

I think they are saying to copy to your desktop, open it in InDesign, do your edits, and then save it. Then move the file to the directory path.

I’m on a Mac so I don’t know diddly about PC paths and directories
