I’m a longtime user of Indesign, paragraph and character styles.
Recently, on three different Indesign projects, the paragraph style reverted to a different paragraph style and left me unable to edit the text for the revert text (particularly, not allowing me to type the letter of ‘b’ for some reason). I was able to type the unresponsive text in Notepad and paste it into the document; then select the correct paragraph style. All new to Indesign 2025. and very unexpected. But the paragraph ‘shift’ appeared again later in the day.
I exported the INDD file into the IDML format. Then I deactivated 2025 and reinstalled 2024 and restarting my machine; then opened the IDML file, it seemed OK. Then reinstalled 2025 and opened the most recent 2024 file in Indesign 2025. It all worked long enough to get the project formatted correctly, but the paragraph style shift has happened again today [11/14/24].
This is all new for my experience with Indesign. Any other instances reported? Any idea what I should do?
