    I found out about this issue in Reddit and tried it myself.

    InDesign 2025 running on Windows 10 doesn’t remember locking constrain proportions.

    I’m not having an issue with using shift to scale, but i often use the width or height to resize precisely/ use math and rely on it to be locked.

    Now, it unlocks as soon as the object is unselected. I’ve tried doing it on the control bar and properties panel.

    Is anyone else having this experience? If so is there a known workaround without having to reset preferences or reverting to an older version?

    I know sometimes the Adobe team adds new features that changes how the software works, and there’s a setting in the preferences that needs to be checked to retain legacy functionality…

    Hmm, I don’t have access to ID on Windows but on the Mac things still work the same as ever. But judging from the comments on UserVoice and Reddit there’s definitely something going on.

      The user voice now has comments from some Mac users, so it’s looking like it may be a cross platform issue and perhaps interference from other software…

    I received a response from the InDesign team on the uservoice yesterday. InDesign 20.1 Build 20.1.0.71 has the fix for this issue.
