Hi, having spent 3 days fighting with InDesign CS5 and exporting to eBook (iPad and Kindle), I was wondering if Anne-Marie's course on lynda.com would be updated for CS5.5 or whether there'd be a whole new course? I watched Elizabeth Castro's webinar and bought her book but find it doesn't really help with books of 600 pages with ToC, 100s photos, footnotes/endnotes and index, so wondered if anyone/Adobe would ever actually consider a course on a really long complicated book?

As always, thank you for your expertise. Have you got CS5.5 in the USA? I've pre-ordered it because of the new stuff InD can do exporting to ePub but here in the UK we have to wait till July … sigh!!

Hi Ann, no, CS5.5 has not been released anywhere yet. Only announced. We're honestly not sure when it will come out, but Adobe usually releases within a month of announcement.

I think 5.5 will help you a lot, but epub can be crazy-making even then. Good luck!

Hi Ann, there will be a new version of the course for CS5.5, sometime after it comes out …

A course on really long/ complicated /highly formatted ebooks would be great! Hmmmm…

      Hi Anne Marie and David,

Thank you for your replies — and Anne Marie, surely you've got a couple of hours to spare between midnight and 2am to set up the course-on-really-long-complicated…ebooks!! :)

Well, I suppose I'd better go and subscribe to lynda.com as the Contents seem to cover most things, especially towards the end — perhaps I can go backwards!

      Thanks again

      Ann

Looks like CS5.5 has been simultaneously released in the UK and the US. I've downloaded my trial and am exploring it now!

Also looking forward to the course on long really complicated ebooks!
