Hi everyone, first post here, so my apologies if there’s some posting convention I’m missing.
For a long time now, I’ve been experiencing an annoying lag issue with InDesign. Whenever I open a file that I’m working on, InDesign works like a dream — for about an hour. The longer it stays open though, the slower it gets. After 2-3 hours the lag is so bad that it is nearly unbearable. I can fix this by closing the file, then opening it back up; doing so seems to “reset” the lag clock. I don’t even need to quit InDesign to do this, just close and reopen the file.
I have no idea what the cause may be, but it’s annoying to have to put up with lag every hour or close & reopen my file several times a day. I’ve checked out articles like this:
https://creativepro.com/why-is-indesign-soooo-slow.php
However, none of the things there seem to be the culprit, and I’ve yet to come across something pertaining to lag getting worse over time.
For reference, I’m using InDesign CC 2015 on OS X 10.11.3 (El Capitan) with 16GB ram and plenty of hard drive space. If I remember correctly, this problem existed for earlier versions of InDesign and when I was on Yosemite.
Any ideas on what might be going on?
