Using CS5 to build interactive epubs, InDesign design file was worked on offsite by designer using CS4 (file saved down for offsite use). When design came back, con't. working on design using CS5, then built template on that file also in CS5. Now books are in production in CS5, some files progressing into adding animation layers. When we attempt to import a SWF containing very basic animations (educational pub, instructor voice-over w/annos and highlighting), InDesign crashes. SWF is OK, we can import into a blank .indd file. SWF will also import OK into another publication that never went out or switched versions. We tried flushing the file using export to .idml, no luck.

Is this due to having routed files months ago throuh CS4 for one design pass? If so, is there a fix or do we have to rebuild a new template and repour chapters?

Thanks to all for any advice or insights.
