Importing layers from one doc to another?

      Hi:

      I am designing a 100-page 4-color catalog. In addition to a US version the catalog will also have European versions in UK English, French, and German. The EU versions will involve a black type plate change for each language. In the past my client has provided the printer with a single InDesign doc with layers for each language that can be switched on or off. This setup allows us to make sure that none of the 4-color images have been moved intentionally or unintentionally by a translator.

      Our new translation company wants to create each language as a separate InDesign file instead of as a layer on a single master file. This is because of an automatated translation tool they use.

      My question is: Is there a simple way that I can import the text layer from each of these different language files into a single master document with a layer for each language?
