Import text to auto create multi-pages with columns

      Hi:

      How do you import text to auto create multi-pages with columns without first applying any master pages? I have one page set up as columns and when I use the Shift click to import the text, it will create the additional pages automatically with one column only. Will this only work if I set the columns up first in the master pages and apply them before I import or are there other options? I am using CS4.
