When I use an abbreviation like oz. for ounces or lbs. for pounds the spell checker thinks that it is a regular end of sentence perios and tells me that the next word needs to be capitalized. How do I get the spell checker to ignore this?

Hi Robert, to avoid this, just add the “oz.”, “lbs.” to your Dictionary, InDesign will then consider it as one word.

      Cheers !

When the spell checker finds a word and highlights it for me to check, I always say add but then ID keeps on finding the same words again like it didn’t add it to the dictionary. I also use pH a lot and I have added pH 100 times to the dictionary and it still says it is misspelled.
