Do you think it would be possible with a script or is there any other way to do it?

I have a document with certain words in red. When I import that document into InDesign, it doesn’t work properly, as it changes automatically some letters of those words in red leaving them in black (only one letter per word). Checking every word takes a lot of time, and that’s why I was asking if there’s any way to do it automatically.

You can search for color as part of the Find/Change. So you can search for any text that is black or any text that is red. Unfortunately, you cannot search for “any text that is black in the middle of a word that is red.” GREP or Find/Change cannot see the formatting of the text around it.

Then, I check every word with forbearance.Thank you so much, David :-)

I think I would be looking at the import process, or further back at the process for creating the original document, so that you can find a way to avoid the manual checking.
Is there any different way to define the “rules” in which some words must be red?

What format is the imported document? If it’s Word, you could try switching between doc and docx formats before importing. Maybe.

@Chris – Is there any different way to define the “rules” in which some words must be red?

you can create character style with red text color.. then in paragraph style, in GREP section apply those character style you just created, and for grep rule write:
YOUR_DESIRED_WORD|or phrase that need to be in red

Yes, what we need to know is: what are the rules for “which words are red”? Only the OP can answer that.
      Chris.
