      Hi,

As per the title, I have a document which was created in CC and saved out as an IDML file. I’ve opened it in CS6 and it has style override highlighting switched (redlines behind text and down sides of paragraphs) on which is driving me slightly mad. I’ve tried to find how to switch it off but all I seem to be able to find is mentions of a button on the styles menu which seems to have been introduced in CC. Does anyone know how I can switch this off in CS6?

      Any help very much appreciated.

I didn’t think CS6 could show this kind of style highlighting, so that’s very, very strange. Is the “redlining” blue? Or different color? I wonder if it’s perhaps a different composition highlight preference. See this article:

Oh, one more idea… this script is the only thing I remember from the CS6 days that would also add highlighting:

It’s very odd, I think it must be something caused by the file being created in CC and saved out as am idml file and then opened in CS6. I’m pretty certain it’s override highlighting as it only appears when I overrride a paragraph or character style.

The highlighting is in two forms, a red vertical block at the side of any affected paragraphs and a rid strikethrough behind any affected text.

The script at this link will turn off the local overrides: https://www.indiscripts.com/post/2010/05/show-local-formatting-in-indesign-cs4. I’ve been using the script without any problems in all later CS and CC versions of InDesign.

IDML understands this well, Thank you.
