      1. I finished the “anchoring” and “prevent manual positioning” of 48 of 50 graphs within an Addendum.
      2. I went back to the two graphs (they fill page 315) that I was unable to anchor or prevent positioning.
      3. I then noticed that page 314 has a port arrow, and the text within is the text on page 316 and onward. i.e. page 314 is threaded to page 316! And that must be why I can't anchor or lock the graphs on page 315.

On one of the Adobe Help pages, I found info on how to “Add a frame inside a sequence of threaded frames”….but I'm not adding a frame.

How do I link page 315 to 314 and 316?

D, tricky one for you. What I would suggest:

option a: with the black arrow select the frame on page 314, double click in the out port, it will change in a red “+” and all the rest of the text disappears on the other pages. Click in the red “+” and the cursor will change in a “loaded with text” one. Click on page 315 and adjust the frame in needed. Click in the out port again and with the “loaded with text” cursor click on page 316. All the pages are linked now.

option b: select the text on page 315 and copy/past the text at his right spot on page 314, the text will also flow to page 316 . Don't forget to place the graphic. Page 315 is double now, so you can delete page 315. In this case p. 316 becomes p. 315!

In fact, you are “adding a frame inside a sequence of threaded frames” if you take option a. Without a frame, no text could be on the page.

Gert, neither option worked. Am I misunderstanding something, or do you need to amend your instructions?

Option a: Using the black arrow, I selected the frame on page 314. I then double-clicked on the outport and it changed to a red +….(the graphs on page 315 stayed there, and everything disappeared from 316 onward. I went back to the red + and clicked once on it. It did not load the cursor. I go up to Undo, then click on what shows up as “Undo Place”….THEN my cursor is loaded, BUT…..the graphs are still sitting on page 315…and 316 onward is also now back. i.e. I have a loaded cursor but no place to put it all since all pages are back.

Option b: I can't copy and paste anything from page 315. They are two graphs which I am unable to make inline graphs …. I guess since page 315 is not threaded from 314 and to 316. i

Gert, even though what you stated didn't work (or I misunderstood), I was inspired and tried something different…and it worked. From that middle page which wasn't threaded to either 314 or 316….I moved the graphs over to the work space. On page 316, I went to Type, then I Page Breaked the text over to the next page. I added the graphs to page 316….the deleted page 315. VOILA.

I'm so proud. :) Another HUGE learning curve success! Yee hawwww.

      ARGHHHHH. I SPOKE TOO SOON….

There is still a port on page 314…and it's not threading to 315…and thus, I can't anchor the two graphics on page 315. GRRRRR.

      Helpppppp, I sputter.

You know, in all my novice-ness, I didn't do View>Extras>Show Text to see if they weren't threaded. And lo and behold, I just did and THEY ARE.

So why in the world am I unable to anchor the two graphs on the page I finally threaded?? With the selection tool, I select the first graph, go to Object>Anchored Object…then Options is all gray. ??

I figured it out. I had to start all over again with Selection Tool/Cut, Type Tool/Paste, Object….etc.

I sound like a ditzy blonde on here. hahahahahaha
