As I try to place an mp3 audiofile, I get the error message: 'Cannot place the file. No filter found for requested operation', even when I select 'show import options', shift while opening the file, or try it twice. This occurs psecifically with mp3 files, which I converted from wav files with Switch. Earlier the wav files were edited in Audacity. I tried to re-create a more acceptable mp3 file, by opening it in Audacity, and exporting it again, yet Audacity does not work with mp3, and I get an error message: 'could not open mp3 encoding library'.

This is a major problem, as all my recordings are in wav, and I need to find a way to both edit them, and then import them into Indesign CS5?

Since most professional recording equipment produces wav files, I also wonder whether Indesign CS5 could be set to accept wav instead of mp3. It would save so much time.
