how to include all books inside the book panel in the index?

      I followed the directions—I checkmarked include book documents in the generate index dialog, but the index does not include references to all the books in the book panel. I also tried checkmarking book inside of the index panel and checkmarking both.

      How do i get the index to include references in all the books in the book panel?

      You have to have all the documents in the book OPEN when you generate the index.

      Thanks greatly! That worked.

      I have another question: I added some names and places, and when I generated the index again (to update it), fewer page numbers for the entries I had already made were there?!
