      Hi

I have and use some character styles with different fonts, colors, sizes and so on in my document and some parts of them must be highlighted to correct later.

My highlight style in Character Styles panel affects on selective texts and apply its font size/character style and so on that I don’t like it!. I’d rather use and apply a simple color stripe from [Character Panel’s flyout menu < Underline Options < Underline on].

For example my highlight style uses [Adobe Caslon Pro/14pt/Black color and etc.] whenever I use the style to different text with unlike attributes; it changes them to its attributes (it’s naturally and reasonable completely).

Can I create a highlight style with color stripe only that whenever I apply it to different text doesn’t change their attribute and use a simple color stripe to them only. No more no less! (I use CS5)

      Thank you

If you don't want a font change in your highlight character style, then simply do not define a font in it. Call up the definition of this style, go to the Basic Formats secion, highlight the font and delete it.

You can check if a font is set in the style by looking in the field below the style name when you select the General section.
