      Hi There,
      Currently I am working an a publication and I want to set up a template. since there will be going new assignments with same cover. Now the client has a certain setup for the spine. Which I find annoying fixing it by hand. Iso I thought Indesign should be able to make this fit when I adjust the width of the spine. But I feel lost. Anyway out there to help out with some tips? Is this even doable?

      Can you upload a screenshot or maybe the file to see what is going on?

      create 2 different master/parent pages: front/back and one for the spine
      put it in a spread and allow liquid layout if you change spine width

        And that would be better if you create with ‘facing pages’ for easier control of the spine.

      Thanks Peter and Steve, I created a share in Indesign of the file. I did as Steve mentioned, made 2 different master pages . I would like the background to seal along for the spine when I adjust that https://assets.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:US:f0662d95-0afd-43e3-b64e-8cd57bbe4a97?view=published

      Step by step:

      1. Create new document with 3 facing pages;
      2. In the hamburger menu on the pages panel deselect ‘Allow Document Pages to Shuffle’;
      3. Move the 1st page to snap with the other two to form the cover pages;
      4. Select the ‘Page Tool’ (3rd from the top);
      5. Select the spine page;
      6. Set the left and right margins to 0 (or any other small value);
      7. Now resize the width of the spine and the right most page (the front page) will snap to the spine.

      Thank you Petar, II made the pages stick to gather after resizing. But What I am trying to do is make that the image (the three red stripes will also adjust according to the page size. Right now this is an eps file. Do you think that will work?

      Try with:

      1. Layout > Margins and columns…
      2. Layout > Create Alternate Layout…
