How to align stroke to INSIDE of a box?

      In QuarkXpress there was a preference you could set so that when you add a stroke to a box, the outside edges of the stroke touched the INSIDE edge of the box you were stroking.

      With InDesign, when I add a stroke, it extends beyond the outer edge of the box, so if I want the stroked box to align with something else, or show the entire thickness of the stroke when it’s at the edge of the artboard, I then have to fidget with the handles to reduce the size of the box to align with the page edges.

      It’s a pain. But I can’t find a preference to set to change that as a default.

      Any ideas?

      Hi Patti… this is controlled in the Strokes panel. While no objects are selected on the page you can set the stroke to Inside. That will set it as the default for new objects you create. Here’s more on that:
