Alright so I have this problem which I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere.

I know the basics of skipping a page while numbering, but I have a document where I need to skip the numbering of every other page.

Basically, it's a double A4 spread that will be printed out on A3 and will be folded.

I need the page numbering to continue on every other spread, or in other words – For every double page to be counted as one (1, blank, 2 , blank , 3 , blank) and so on.

Is there a way to do this without having to manually restart the counting? Some sort of action that ignores the pages I choose, or merging a double page to be counted as one?

Create a text file with your numbers. On the master page create a new text frame. Create a paragraph style for the page number and make sure to set it to always start in a new frame. Select the master text frame and assign that paragraph style. Go to the first page of your document and place the text file into that master text frame.

It should flow throw your document. It's not auto numbering but it's a lot easier than it sounds. You can very easily create the text file in Excel.
