      G”Day all,

      • Finished trim size is 1500mm X 6000mm
      • My challenge is that the InDesign max. size is 5,486.4mm
      • At the moment I am working with two pages side by side at 3000mm (which I don't want to do)
      • If I can't create this on the one page, do I scale by 50%? 25%? or something else?
      • What is the standard practice others use when working with large formats i.e Billboards, or large signage like myself?

Any fast help would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.

You should really liaise with the printers for everything.

You only normally have to do it to quarter the size, or sometimes 1/10th the size.

Billboard resolution is around 40 ppi.

So if you do it to 1/4 the size make sure your ppi is 160 ppi so that at full size it's 40.

But again, check with your printers to what scale you should design to and what ppi to aim for.

      Thanks Eugene.

Just found out that they accept 1/2, 1/4 sizes and they simply scale it up from there. This just makes all aspects of my art work so much easier. Sometimes I wish I knew all the answers, but then again i'd be bored with that :-)

Watch your output settings with pdf exporting. Double check that your resolution won't get downsampled to much.
