    hi every one , i hope that any one can help me

    first i`m mohamed and i`m web designer … by boss told me that i must do a sample magazine on ipad including all effects the i see on Wired magazine so i oped the adobe website and i looking how i do it …. and i get some topics and i do that

    – downloaded Overlay Creator

    – downloaded Content Bundler

    – downloaded Adobe Content Viewer on i pad

    so i setup that programming and make a simple magazine on Indesign Cs5 but i still not know how i use the Overlay Creator program

    or i make the effects …………. please can any one can help me …… any one have web sites or can give me a link of topic???????

    Mohamed, it is not as easy as it seems. You currently need to join the Adobe beta program to download the files. You can find more information here:

    When you download the overlay creator and bundler and all that you can also download the 45-page tutorial from Adobe's web site. It will teach how to do it.

    .. i visit the link and i already download the tutorial but i need to see videos to learn …. are u will make course soon includding the Digital Publishing Magazine

    Thank you, Mohamed. I'm glad to hear that my videos have been useful for you.

    I think someone will be doing a DPS training video, but not me right now. One of the problems is that the technology is changing very quickly. Remember that the iPad 2 is coming, the Android devices are barely shipping, the iPad has not been out for a year yet, and all the Adobe software is BETA.

    The best idea is for most publishers to go to sleep for 6-12 months and come back when standards and software are more finished. Anyone who jumps in now is a beta tester (what we call a guinea pig).

    yes some one call james fritz he make InDesign.CS5.Interactive.Documents.and.Presentations course … it wase very useful for me .. but it about pdf and swf nod ipad .

    i agree with u the about the technology is changing very quickly ..

    u know i looking for any videsos on adobe tv and i found some videos but these vidos not includding how i use the Overlay Creator

    Hey Mohamed,

    I think you called for me:) First off, thanks for the kind words. I am happy that I was able to help you with PDFs and SWFs.

    I wish I could share more information with you about how to use the Overlay Creator, but the problem is that it is currently in beta. That means that I am not allowed to talk about it until it is shipping. This also means that no one (including me) will be putting out any videos on how to use these features until this software is released. And even if we could make videos, it would be silly to do it because everything changes so quickly. If I made a video about how to do a certain technique, the next week they might change that behavior and I would have to redo the video.

    For the time being, if you have joined the beta for the Digital Publishing System you will probably have access to the forums where you should be able to ask questions and get help a particular problem that you may have. Like David said above, the PDF tutorial is quite good and should get you started.

    hi jamez , i have honor to talk to u … i want say that ur course is very useful . i like it too much .

    i just wonder how the big company like WIRED or Zinio or Time make a nice digital magazine using the Overlay Creator if the program still beta ? and how they use it ?

    i watch a video on youtube about WIRED magazine and i'm shocked …its very interactive and i like it so much

    i agree with u jamez , that everything changes so quickly.. but what i do now my boss need a sample magazine ..

    can u give me the link of these fourms u talking about .. ? u know i watch ur InDesign CS5 Interactive Documents and Presentations course . but i don`t see how i make the pdf for ipad .. can u tell me how i use the interactive pdf … if i can use the course skills and put the pdf into ipad that Will be enough… but can u tell me how that or can u give me links for videos or forums ??

    If you have signed up for the beta, you will have access to the forums at prerelease.adobe.com.

    If you make an interactive PDF and try to view it on the iPad, not all of the functions may work. Your best bet is to download the PDF viewer called Good Reader for the iPad. It does a better job of rendering PDFs that the built in PDF viewer. Unfortunately, multimedia does not work in these PDFs. The hyperlinks will still work, but it is the best that we have for now.

    Wired, The New Yorker, InDesign Magazine and about 98 other magazines have been using the beta version of the Adobe DPS tools. I'm not sure I agree with Fritz about not being able to teach the Overlay Creator. There are some (very short) tutorials available, including one done a while ago by Terry White: https://terrywhite.com/techblog…..hives/6321

    Also Chris Converse did a nice one-hour webinar for Adobe on it mentioned on this blog post: https://blogs.adobe.com/indesig…..esign.html

    However, I think what Fritz is pointing to is that the tools keep changing, so there is no “final” software to train on yet.

    I didn't realize that there were public videos on how to use the overlay creator. I guess Chris and Terry must have gotten permission to publish those videos.

    I hope the digital magazine software can do something inspiring for you. It's possible for you to create a digital magazine easily. you can upload them to the website differentiate to Weird but unique.

    You can publish digital magazines using the adobe's digital publishing suite. It publishes magazines of high quality.

    There are many types digital magazine. If you want to convert photos or PDF to flash digital magazines, you can use flip book maker.
