      hello

I need to translate some pages from this manual and must retain original format:https://tda.panasonic-europe-se…..75cz656ez7 06466z22zdb06cf785cb2ad981030372a96afa7278820e9bc/tsn2/data/ALL/DMCFT1 0E/OI/844887/vqt2x62.pdf

You can view that here is zilion icons in vector format (look page 28 in pdf, tables). Icons is not in font and that layout is very bad and hard to make. I have several ideas how to make this but maybe you have some better and faster idea.

      1. ocr is not solution

      2. make custom font from this icons is nightmare and very time consuming. I dont have this font (fdscpichara). This is probably some internal panasonic font. Maybe is on market some font creator which can make this job easy but I dont know for that.

      3. copy/paste from illustrator into indesign preserve layout and vectors (icons), but is not solution because indesign cant paste several vector objects (icons is made from multiple vector objets) as inline graphics into text (if I want to select icon by icon and paste it into text as inline). They must be first grouped and then pasted one by one which is very time consuming.

HOW I CAN MAKE MY LIFE EASY WITH THIS HARD JOB? I have only pdf as source.

      thanks

I can't get to the link you have tried to post the URL seems fragmented or incomplete.

No need to worry — Foley also posted this on the Adobe InDesign Forum (but under another name): help…complicated layout…how to make my life easy

He (? — probably!) must think that posting it in a couple of forums will yield a choice of easy routes to pick from. I disagree: this is what is known in the trade as “a hard job”.

(My other comment, about the legality, also stands.)

You can use the PDF2ID tool to convert PDF files into InDesign files.
