I’m designing a book and in my table of contents I want to hang the numbers on the left hand side and obviously in a book the page numbers wont be consecutive so i need to be able to insert any number I want. Each item in the contents list has a second descriptive line that needs to be flush left with the Title line above it. I’ve done this with bullets, but can’t figure out how to do it with any number I want, not consecutive.

Thanks for you help in advance!

We don’t currently allow uploading of images, so the best option is to post the image somewhere like IMGUR.COM or some other file service and then post the URL here. What you’re looking for sounds pretty complex. Maybe it could be done with a cross-reference. Certainly not with a normal table of contents, I think.
