I have an .indd that I need to convert to e pub, on a few of the pages is a graphic made up of smaller graphics ( there are actually avatars but made of artwork and are NOT images. When I try to export this along with other page elements the graphic gets broken down into hundreds of elements ( obviously all the intersecting lines the graphic has. What I was trying to do was to group all the elements that make up the graphic and drag the group to the articles panel. But that just put all the lines together but one on top of one another NOT in a layered format which I was hoping for so my question is how can I get this graphic in the epub as a whole object?

I have screenshots and I hope I’m clear.

      thx

      Ralph,

Have you considered cutting each graphic and pasting into Illustrator? Place the new illustrator artwork back into your layout. I am not sure how many you have.

Yes, my last resort was to take a screen shot of the area make a .jpg out of it and import back into ID. I had thought that of I grouped all those objects that made up the graphic it would all be viewable in the correct state.

So you are saying that this is not possible so either create the area outside of ID and import back correct?

      thx

Grouping and anchoring vs dropping directly into the articles pallet might do the trick. I’ve always brought them in from the outside.
