    So I’ve been noticing in doing my GREP searches that sometimes I have the option to search within the selection and sometimes not, has anyone else seen this and/or know why the option is sometimes there and sometimes not? Or am I just getting Text search and Grep search options mixed up?

    Not sure if this is an OS thing (Mac, 10.9.5) or InDesign version (CC14, 10.1.0.71) thing, or a combination of the two…

    You probably already know this…but at the risk of stating the obvious, I will point out that if you don’t have anything selected, then the “selection” option isn’t available.

    I only mention this because more than once I have been completely flummoxed by something obvious like this. If you always have text selected and are still experiencing this problem, then feel free to just ignore this particular comment. :-)
