GREP Remove multiple returns and multiple spaces in 1 go

      While I enjoy the GREP presets I’d enjoy them even more if I could work out how to combine my 2 most used ones into a single GREP command:
      Multiple Return to Single Return *and* Multiple Space to Single Space. I honesty cannot work out how to write my own GREP so rely on Auntie Google and the good folk here.
      Could anyone point me in the right direction please.

      These should wor?

      For multiple return to single return:

      Go to Find/Change and choose Grep
      Find: \r+
      Replace: \r

      for multiple spaces to single space:
      Find: +
      Replace:

      Replace by: $1
