      Hello

I have a list of car related stuff, which has been done in excel. Only problem is for some reason loads of full stops have been put in the listings for example: “BMW Series. 3 >09 1.7-2.6″… etc my problem is the full stop after Series which I need to remove from throughout the list for all the various places it pops up, but not the 1.6 or 2.6 etc places. Can use find and replace but it’s v long winded. I’m not very up to speed with grep so could some kind soul give me example of how to do this. Thanks.

GREP is great for this kind of thing. You can, for example, search for “s\.” (s followed by a backslash then a full stop), then replace it with just “s”
