      Hello,

I’m trying to automate as much of the formatting of some sports stats as possible and I need some help with getting my GREP Find/Change call to work.

The problem is that some of the team names are too long and are pushing the stats past their first tab-column. I can’t make my column widths bigger to accomodate so I need to shorten the names of the teams.

So far I have for the Find field: (^)(\D{10,})() — At the beginning of a paragraph, find a string of characters (that aren’t numerals) 10 or larger, with a tab afterwards.

I want to then have my action to change it to the first 6 characters with a “.”. However, when I’ve tried multiple GREP strings in the change field, but it tends to read anything that isn’t formatting as straight text.

So: (\D{3}). — puts “\D{3}. ” into the replaced text.

      Any ideas?

      Thanks,
      Tyler
