      I'm new to GREP styles.

How do I define the following:

At the beginning of a paragraph, any word/s including the spaces between them which are followed by a colon

      so, it will find

      Address:

      or

      Capital managed:

      etc.

      Easy-peasy.

      ^[^:]+(?=:)

      Or an alternative:

      ^.+?(?=:)

Both are rigged to mark up to, but not include, the very first colon.

Or you could just use a nested style. That's probably easier. Just say “up to (or through) the first colon.” (You can replace the word “characters” in the nested style with a colon (or any character).

Thanks a lot. It's morning here now, so I'm going to try it right away.

And Mr. Blatner, I owe you a great deal for your excellant book from 1994 – QuarkXpress. The best guide I ever read. Not to mention the InDesign CS2 book that got me into InDesign.

I now use Lynda.com – your course for GREP already helped.

      Thanks.
