      Hello,

I created an InD doc and wanted to include some basic interactivity

before exporting to PDF. It's an invitation and I used the Create Button

feature and added the Behavior to Jump to Next Page on Mouse Down.

It works fine in Acrobat but when I test emailed myself using my gmail account,

the option to View the PDF opens up Google Doc Viewer. But none of the interactivity

      works.

I also have simple email link to my email address on the invite. But Google Doc is

also not reading that properly. It's asking if I really want to open Gmail. It's not

directly opening an email client. (This works fine in Acrobat, too).

I expect a lot of people who have Gmail will just click “view” instead of download

      and open the PDF.

      Any ideas?

      Thanks,

      Jane

      Jane,

I hate to break it to you but there is no way around your problem. When you create interactive PDFs, not all PDF readers will understand or correctly render the PDF. Google Doc's PDF reader is very very basic and will ignore the interactivity. Your only course of action is to tell people that they have to open the PDF in Adobe Reader so they can properly interact with the PDF.

This problem is even more severe on the iPad since there is not a reader that supports all of the interactivity of PDFs. Just last week Adobe finally released Reader for the iPad, but it is very basic and does not support interactivity.
