Help me dissect this. I have several full page images at the front of my document that appear where they are supposed to when I export to EPUB but then, all the other images throughout the document appear at the end of the EPUB doc. I suspect I put the images at the front “inline” and not the others but how do I dissect this?

Also, I noticed in my EPUB that the full page images seem to get cropped at the bottom. Is that just because my screen (laptop) is 13″ (and horizontal for that matter) or is there an auto scaling setting I should turn on?

I think you need to anchor the “end of the epub” into the main text flow. Otherwise ID exports the entire threaded story first as soon as it hits the first frame, then it exports floating images. So they end up at the end.

      Hi Anne Marie,

I was following your tutorial on Lynda. So what I did was:

      1. The full page image is on a right page and the text it needs to be in front of is on the backside of that page (left side). I know sides are irrelevant in EPUB but I want you to get the picture. The text frame is smaller than the photo since it has margins around it.

      2. I selected the photo and SHIFT-CLICK-DRAGGED the blue anchor to the space before the first word of the next page and it disappeared and added lots of empty pages.

I do have the first word of this page set to a paragraph style that puts it to the top of a page. Could it be that the same attributes are being applied to the photo I’m linking?

The other thing I don’t understand is I have 3 full page photos at the front of my doc that are working fine and I can’t remember what I did to make them behave. Is there a way I can see if they are anchored or whatever?

      Hi Anne Marie,

A friend showed me how to click infront of a character and CONTROL-CLICK then select the Anchored Object flyout. I was able to add my graphic and move it where I wanted, scale it as I wanted. I did have to put a single return inbetween the object the the first character of my title so ti would go to it’s own page or else the body text would move and the title wouldn’t. Anyway it appears to be working now.

You also mentioned on Lynda to turn on the Show Text Flow or theread or something like that. OUCH! I discovered pages of text that had some how moved 10 pages away from where they were suppose to be. I have not idea how that happened at all but it makes me question the Book version I made so I’m going to check it.
