      Hello,

Is there a site or a PDF that has InDesign terminology in french?

Things you see in the program like 'Drop cap', etc.

      Regards,

      Eric

A little Google-fu found this InDesign Online Help en français: https://help.adobe.com/fr_FR/in…..index.html

You can also switch your entire InDesign installation to use French: https://creativepro.com/cha…..ee-app.php

Brwosing the French help, by the way, taught me that the French term for “Drop Caps” is lettrines. What a nice word :) (https://help.adobe.com/fr_FR/in…..6dc4a.html)

If it can help, I can provide you a PDF with all the menus in French. And do not hesitate if you need a translation for specific terms.

Oui Jean-Marc! I'd like to have a PDF with all the menus in French.

I'm putting together a custom menu with Adobe Configurator for our French newspaper. That's why I need the french terms.

      Thanks

P.S. Is there a French crossword puzzle & chess generator online? I'd like to use it and import the data to InDesign.

I can't see any way to attach a PDF file. Just tell me where I can send it to you.

What about the crosword generator? What do you mean by “import the data to inDesign”. You need to get an editable file? A PDF file?

You can send it to [email protected]

For the crossword generator, I want to set style attributes to the text and to the crossword table. I'm thinking that I can pull the crossword data from somewhere and import it into InDesign. Right now we import a crossword puzzle PDF. Since it's a PDF, I can't edit the content and style attributes.

Just sent you a mail. I am afraid that you won't find a crossword generator allowing to export datas to be imported in InDesign: I spent much time to find that, without any success, but if you find it, tell me!

Crossword in InDesign, as text and graphic elements? Yeah, did that ages ago ;)

I can't promise it will still work on modern InDesigns, but you can try https://www.jongware.com/binari…..ssword.zip

As for the Adobe Help, find “Drop Caps” in the english version and then, in the address, change “en_US” for “fr_FR”. The page will be the same but in french.

Jongware’s site is no more, so I put the script here: creativepro.com/files/jongware/binaries/crossword.zip
