Hi All,
I’ve been trying to format the footnote marker reference that appears in the footnote text, but I’ve been unable to find any direct way of doing it.
In the body of the text, I can format the footnote reference via the “Type, Footnote Options, Formatting, Footnote Reference Number in Text, Character Style” option
I can format the entire footnote itself via the “Type, Footnote Options, Formatting, Footnote Formatting, Paragraph Style” option.
However, what I cannot find is the ability to apply a different character style to the footnote marker inside the footnote text. The most control I have is to change the numbering style. (e.g. 1, i, a… etc).
Does anyone know if there is a way to control the format of this marker automatically?

In the end what did was use the Edit, Find/Change with the following parameters:
Find what: ^(<footnote marker>)
Change to: $1
Find Format: character style: [none] + paragraph style: <my footnote text style>
Change Format: character style:
This works, and achieves the look I wish, but if I add new footnotes, I need to rerun this Change command manually.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
