I originally set up my footnote separator as a tab, but would like to change it to an m space. When I tried it through the footnotes option panel, it wouldn’t change anything, so the I tried through find and replace.

I’m able to find everything by typing: ~F.
But can’t figure out what to type into the change to box.

This seems like a simple fix but for some reason I can’t figure it out.

      Thanks,
      Michelle

      UPDATE:

Since I’m not able to insert the GREP for a footnote in the change field, simply left it out and typed:

      Find field: .
      Change field: .~m

However, clicking change all would also affect parts of my main copy. Is there any way to limit the find/change functionality to only footnotes?

      Thanks,
      Michelle

As you used . as separator (!):

      So:

      Find: ~F\.\K
      or (I prefer): (?-s)^~F\.\K
      Replace by: ~m

      (^/)
