Hi there. I am running Suitcase Fusion 2 and even though it shows that a font (eg Futura) is activated, and all of the font family, it still doesn't give me all the options in Indesign. Why is this happening? Also, when I try to activate the Extra bold version of the font, it says “The font activation cannot complete due to an OS activation error”. What does this mean. I haven't quite sussed out how to run fusion suitcase yet… is a bit confusing in my mind. Please help!!

Suitcase and its ilk are known to cause problems — not only with InDesign, I might add: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/540055 ; https://forums.adobe.com/thread/313244 (and lots more).

I never bothered with Font management stuff, but then again I'm no “font collector”, so the number of fonts on my system is easily managed 'by hand'.

I use Fusion 2 on OSX 10.6.4 and have no issues with either CS4 or CS5 (except for lack of auto activation plugins for CS5 which will arrive when they release version 3). Did you follow their best practices guide as far as where to store fonts, etc? I read their manual and set things up as suggested and have not had a problem. Perhaps it's an issue with a conflict with a system font.
