      G'day Folks

When relinking missing images, Indesign CS5.5 and earlier would highlight the missing image once it was pointed at the correct folder. This was really helpful but seems to have disappeared in CS6.

Say I have a file named test-Pr01.indd (where PR01 stands for the proof number). Whenever I take in alters, I manually increment the file name by 1; test-Pr02.indd for proof 2, test-Pr03.indd for proof 3, etc. In Indesign CS5.5 and earlier the Save As field in the Export dialogue box automatically updates to the new file name. Once again, this really useful feature seems to have disappeared in CS6.

Does anyone know if there's a way to get these two features back by tweaking a setting/preference or has Adobe removed them (accidentally or deliberately)?

      Thanks n cheers, Gobit

It's definitely not a preference or setting. I think it was likely an accidental change. I hope it comes back!

Have you updated your operating system too?

That first problem occured with CS5.5 too — once we updated to Lion.

I've also read where the same issue even occurs with CS4 on lion — https://forums.adobe.com/message/4070435

Lion is causing all sorts of issues — like crashing CS6 whenever a warning dialog is generated. Not Nice.

BTW : that particular issue has a workaround : https://helpx.adobe.com/indesig…..boxes.html

No, still running Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) on our production machines.

      Cheers, Gobit
