      Hi Guys,

I’m not sure if this is even possible in InDesign, and how I would go about it (scripting I guess). I work on some large ID files, full of figures (AI, PSDs/JPEGs etc.) I’m trying to figure a way of exporting out the Image filename and (grouped) caption to a CSV file. (Sort of like a reverse data merge if that makes sense)

I’m guessing that I’d be looking to use the Caption paragraph style to extract the text somehow, but I don’t really know where to start.

Are there any useful references/scripts that could point me in the right direction?

      Many thanks, Biggedy

There are several options; for example, see this post and the comments that follow it:

Thanks David – that’s very helpful in terms of producing a list of link filenames… Do you have any idea how I might go about exporting specific text frame content (ie. captions) into a text file also?
