Export/Printing Problems

      I’m experiencing a problem exporting/printing an InDesign file.

      When I export the file (to be compatible with Adobe 2001) it looks as it should. When others open the file on their computer, it seems as though elements of the design have either:

      1. changed colour, or
      2. completely disappeared.

      No matter who prints the document it comes out with the changed colours and missing aspects.

      I did not design the main theme for the document, and am just in charge of applying previously designed aspects together for a program.

      Has anyone ever experienced this before?

      Are you talking about exporting a PDF file? Using PDF X/1a? Or some other PDF preset?

      Yes, I was exporting the PDF using X/Ia.

      I seem to have solved the problem by Printing to PDF, then printing the document.
