Exporting to ePub: two issues

      Hello InDesigners,

I am afraid my experience with ePub documents is limited to reading them, not creating them. For some obscure reason I have chosen a Monday to try my hand at this …

Almost everything make sense to me, and almost everything – so far – works according to plan. I am exporting from an InDesign (Print) document to ePub 3. The two problems I am facing are:
      1) Minor: the first page contains a JPG cover image, but a fraction of this image displays at the top of the second page. I can correct it by having it a little short of the bottom of the page, but then the inevitable white strip appears at the bottom of the cover image/page (in, for example, iBooks). Image saved to correct size, set to fit the frame and frame set to fit the page.
      2) Worrying: I also suffer from the ‘External Text Anchor not found: 1’ issue that seems to plague a number of people. No issues listed under Cross-References, and preflighting with Cross-References Are Unresolved checked yields no error either. I do believe this is linked to my TOC (all carefully linked to Paragraph Styles), but cannot find the source of the problem. Like another person who had the same problem I have worked on several (successively renamed) iterations of a document. The internal TOC has been updated, the problem remains.

      The export errors (2) read:
TOC Text Anchor not found: 1
TOC text anchor “_idTOCAnchor-1” in [path of file] is missing

      and
External Text Anchor not found: 3
      Text Anchor in “[Users/Bernard/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/Version 11.0/en_US/InDesign ClipboardScrap1” is missing: 3

      Any help hugely appreciated …

      Quick update:
I solved the two error messages by removing the TOC (both inline and ePub), and carefully combing the document for links (:). All fine now.
The cover image is slightly smaller than the page size, so that solved that niggle (now shows with a slight border in iBooks, but I can live with that).
