    I am Producing a range of large format photographic books each book is around 450 pages and is predominately large plate photography

    Exporting the document to pdf is laborious the files are so large i have to export manually via page range e.g. 1-20 then 21 to 40 and so on I have to do it this way to manage the pdf files sizes typically the whole book can be in excess of 15 gigs in sizes

    is there any way of automating the process i.e. being able to send a whole book so that it will export in definable and sequential pages ranges i.e. as above

    I have found scripts that work by exporting individual pages and the will work to sections the books don’t really have any sections and really my main criterial is producing pdfs or an average size of around 500 megs each mainly to minimise any ftp upload issues you can get with larger files

    I would break up each 450 pp book into say 20pp documents and then manage the whole Book using the book panel, is this what you are doing?
    You have the option then to select each document in book panel and output to pdf.

    Not automating I know but easier to manage, as a 450pp large format document myst get a bit unwieldy.

    Hi Tim I have done the book in several manageable sections. and am managing the book by the book feature in indesign But I have not created the books in to small enough sections to match my output criteria. Maybe something to consider on a new book.
