Hi all, i have a several linked Excel table formatted with table/cell/paragraph style. All work well but i have 2 small problem:

      1) How to say to indesign that header row is the same of the Excel file? I have to do a manual – convert to – after i have imported the table. How to solve this? Indd seems do not see the Excel header, is it correct? Is there an easy plugin avaiable to do it?

      2) Why the border table (in table style) do not work? Is it correct? I think because i use cell style! The solution to do a stroke to the frame is a bad way, i think. Can i have a confirm? (see below – the stroke frame is a request of my client). What is the best solution to set a border table?

Many thanks for this great forum.

InDesign should import all the rows, including the header row. You are using File > Place, yes? Maybe make sure the Import Options dialog box is including all the rows?

I think you should be able to do both cell borders and a border frame. But you have to apply the cell styles INSIDE the table style definition. If you apply the cell styles “on top” of the frame style (separately, as “local formatting”) then it may not work.

Hi and many thanks. Indesign import all row correctly but do not recognizes the header row that i set in excel and in the table styles (i set a cell styles as header).

This the big problem (i have to convert to header the first row – manual). Ideas?

For the rest i do not understand how to set the border row in the table style. My table is all formetted with cell style.

The problem is that table style does not override cell style formatting and for is impossible to have a table border using cell style.

Really impossible for me – i do not understand how to do.

      Many thanks for your ideas!
