Is it possible to create equations in InDesign CS5 without using any other third party plug-ins? How?

What kind of equations?

Here's a sample of how to them with or without tables – you can also buy a font called Mathematical Pi that has the fonts already

<formula>
<?MathML <math display='block'><semantics><mrow><msub><mi>B</mi><mi>𝓁</mi></msub><mrow><mo>(</mo><mrow><mi>r</mi><mo>,</mo><mi>θ</mi></mrow><mo>)</mo></mrow><mo>=</mo><mrow><mo>{</mo> <mrow><msqrt><mi>r</mi></msqrt><mo>sin</mo><mfrac><mi>θ</mi><mn>2</mn></mfrac><mo>,</mo><msqrt><mi>r</mi></msqrt><mo>cos</mo><mfrac><mi>θ</mi><mn>2</mn></mfrac><mo>,</mo><msqrt><mi>r</mi></msqrt><mo>sin</mo><mfrac><mi>θ</mi><mn>2</mn></mfrac><mo>sin</mo><mi>θ</mi><mo>,</mo><msqrt><mi>r</mi></msqrt><mo>cos</mo><mfrac><mi>θ</mi><mn>2</mn></mfrac><mo>sin</mo><mi>θ</mi></mrow> <mo>}</mo></mrow><mo>,</mo></mrow></semantics></math>?>
</formula>

I have to create equations from this MathML.

How to do this. Could you please explain in detail, the steps involved in your sample with and without tables.

If you have any suggestion for automation of this process please share it with me.

I'm not familiar with MathML, I'm not sure I have more to offer you. It's certainly not automated I hand drew the table.

I created a new table, 1 row x 1 column. Then added rows and columns where needed. I then used Indesign Table commands to split or merge cells where needed. And then applied a stroke to the correct cell border.

It would be very tedious if you have a lot of equations. I know you don't want any third party plugins, but I guess others might, and there is this plugin – https://www.mathmagic.com/produ…..t/pro.html

That might peak your interest?

No, there is no way to convert MathML to InDesign without a plug-in. The only MathML plug-in I know of is MathMagic: https://www.mathmagic.com/
