ePUB formatting does not hold in iBooks

      Greetings,

I have created an epub using InDesign CC 2015.5. After a few tweaks to the CSS file, I got the epub to look exactly like I want when viewed on an Android device. However, when the epub is viewed on iBooks the formatting does not hold. Specifically, padding around textboxes, outlines appearing around a table (even when the line weight is set to 0px), and hyperlinks go to the first page of the book instead of where they are supposed to go.

At first I thought this was a problem with the CSS file until I hit the issue with hyperlinks. Now I don’t know if the issue is in the CSS, the XHTML, or both. As anyone else run into similar issues.

      Thanks,
      Frank

      Frank,

The issues you have brought up have to do with the different specs for different eReaders. They all kinda have their own way of doing things and you kinda have to find a happy medium. I would say try stripping your CSS down and try to be as minimal as possible. (https://ebookarchitects.com/blog/why-ebook-conversion-is-complicated/)

For tables for example are you setting the border to “collapse”?

As far as hyperlinks, are you referring to the TOC? or is this all the URL hyperlinks as well? I havent personally run across this, but I have had times when I’ve exported and all the TOC links are the same link.

      Aaron
